Buddha didn’t specifically say gay people should be respected
Published October 24th, 2007 in Buddhism, HomosexualityWas reading Molly Meek who compile some of the quotes from the support377a site and came across this
quote from a supporter of 377a.
“I am a Buddhist and I support 377A. This is because Buddha teaches us to be tolerant and respect all life, but he didn’t say specifically we must be tolerant to gays and respect them.”
Well I guess neither did Buddha specifically say that we must be tolerant and respectful to maids, construction workers, Malays, Americans, Chinese, etc.. So I wonder who we should be tolerant and respectful to?
Strangely enough, I never knew that a homosexual person is not part of “all life”, perhaps we are “anti-life” or “not life”, like rocks, stones and rivers… maybe that’s why.
Whoever made that remark is really just thinking using his/her ass…
