Polo to the rescue
Published August 22nd, 2007 in About EarthI was in 711 today to look for a mint that actually contains sugar and its really hard to find.
Most of the mint products are sugar free, mostly made with sorbitol and now xylitol. Well, so far these products have no major side effects other than the laxative effect if over consumed. Well, at least they don’t contain the infamous aspartame, which incidentally have recently been cleared of causing cancer to humans.
Still I think its best to eat things that the body can recognize instead of something it can’t, like plastic.
I managed to checked out the ingredients in MENTOS and found that the 3rd (or 4th) ingredient is hydrogenated vegetable oil! Okay, its not partially-hydrogenated vegetable oil, the dreaded killer, but any food that has to go through chemical transformation (i.e. mutation) doesn’t sound too good for my health. From now on, I will avoid MENTOS, unless the ingredients changed or if I am really really really needy of mints.
Anyway, I picked up POLO mints and, hey, it actually contains sugar! Finally, something that don’t sound like a chemical. Perhaps that’s why the horses loves polo mints also, although I have not tried feeding them with the other sugar free mints yet.
Polo mints to the rescue!
