Salt * Wet * Fish

Now the most interesting topic in Singapore is whether Mee Siam (a local spicy/sour rice noodle dish), linked picture above, got Harm (cockles or mussels) or not!

Apparently, some people thinks that mee siam do have harm.. we are just wondering where they ever ate that? Was it at the cafe of the new Parliament house? At the PAP cafeteria? Something cooked up by the Lee family’s maids and servants?

For the generic public, they obviously have very little chance to eat such a luxurious mee siam that have harm. Most of our mee siam only have a few pieces of tao pok (dry beancurd), a bit of tao gay (bean sprout), some slices of hard boiled egg and a bit of chives! Some generous ones will give you a few slices of fish cake… but we never get harm with our mee siam.

Actually hor, I think our dear PM’s writer (yes his speech is written by speech writers) must have meant Laksa mai harm… or more specially Nonya Laksa mai Harm!

Updated: I was right, LHL did mean Laksa mai harm. However, its seems like because of this episode, it became clear that some elements in our main stream media had tried to cover up his “mistake” by reporting that he said “Mee siam mai heeam” (mee siam no chilli). How could the MSM reporters have heard PM Lee said “heeam” when the rest of Singapore obviously heard “harm”. Some more, now PMO said that PM Lee did say “harm”, but was meant to say “Laksa mai harm”. I wonder if its the role of our main stream media to “protect” the ruling party? SG_Review have something to say about this.
