Misplaced love?

Central London is bombed by suspected extremist Muslim group. Instead of condemned such actions outright, they complained about being possibility of being ill-treated and targetted due to their religion.

In South Thailand, Muslims protested angrily over the mistreatments and death of their fellow men by Thai police force. When Buddhist lay persons and monks are mysteriously killed, in an obvious revenge attacks, where are the same people to protest about such actions?

News article claimed that someone in the US jail is showing disrespect to the Quran, obviously a personal choice by the prison guard, if its true. Almost in the entire world, Muslims stood out claiming blasphemy and death if this matter was not resolved. Yet, where were the same people when the Buddha statue in Bamiyan is being blasted to pieces by the Talebans?

Why does such discrepancies arise?

Its quite contrary that some Muslims try to say that their religion is about love, yet, I have never heard a single Muslim cleric say that killing is to be condemn. I’ve only heard them saying the killing of the innocents should be condemned. In other words, if a person is not innocent, they would be quite glad to get him killed. How could such views be about love, sometimes I wonder?

Don’t get me wrong, I am not against the Muslim or the faith, in fact, I total disagree with the ways the West have been treating Muslim countries and with their stupid war against terror. I just feel that the Islamic community may have misplace their objectivity and judgement along the way and its very important that they show the world that they really mean what they say and show visible support that they condemn all forms of violence whether its towards their fellow Muslims or toward people of other religions.

Until then, the world will continue to see the Islamic community as one sided: violence against us is bad, but against others its okay. They cannot blame others for discriminating them or hating them, because they have yet to show that they are capable of loving others not of their religion and outright condemn any acts of violence towards any human beings.
